Effective immediately, Michigan residents may apply for a Michigan Medical Marihuana Program Registry Identification Card if they have been diagnosed with any of the 11 new qualifying conditions approved today by LARA Director Shelly Edgerton.
Updated application packets for Michigan residents 18 years and older and for those under the age of 18 are now available on the Bureau of Medical Marihuana Regulation (BMMR) website. The following conditions have been added to the physician certification form in the updated application packet:More
Tech start up Elefante Group, Inc., in partnership with Lockheed Martin Corporation, has filed a petition for rulemaking with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding a design for a platform of atmospheric-based service to deliver high capacity, fast communications services. This “network-in-the-sky” would be powered by solar energy and some fuel cells. It would be capable of providing coverage to more than 9,000 square miles for six to nine months at a time.More

Energy Sustainability & Tech Fair cosponsored by Soulardarity, Parker Village, and GLREA was held in Highland Park on May 12. The format for the one-day event was five sessions that addressed different issues concerning renewable energy, environmental justice and technology. An evening reception with music was held at the Parker Village development. Over 100 people attended on a day of drenching rain. This Energy Fair was the first GLREA has cosponsored in the Highland Park/Detroit area and was a great success that we can build upon in the future.More
SEMCOG, the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, announces the public comment period for an amendment to the FY 2017-2020 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the 2040 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). The RTP is a long-range vision and strategy that directs investment in the regional transportation system. The TIP is a list of specific projects which implement the policies of the RTP, and are recommended by cities, villages, county road agencies, transit providers, and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) over a four-year period. SEMCOG’s Executive Committee makes the final approval of the TIP project list.More
