Nash, 60, was a county commissioner before winning his first term as Water Resources Commissioner in a close election in 2012. The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) is considering a sweeping permit request by Nexus Gas Transmission for a massive proposed natural gas pipeline that runs from the Marcellus shale region of western Pennsylvania and West Virginia to and through Monroe, Lenawee and Washtenaw counties in southeastern Michigan.

Three daily Wolverines in time for the holidays & extra trains on select days
CHICAGO and LANSING, Mich. – Amtrak and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) have competed this year’s construction season for Wolverine Service trains. Customers can again book travel with three complete round-trips daily, plus additional service on select days around the Thanksgiving holiday.
This continues the improvement of state-owned railroad infrastructure as part of Michigan’s Accelerated Rail Program and will result in improved reliability and a smoother ride for customers, along with an expansion of the Midwest’s first 110 mph Amtrak service.More
