Metro Detroit Golden Gloves is coming back to the City of Detroit and Bert Dearing of Bert’s Warehouse is helping them do that.
For years Metro Detroit Golden Gloves has been holding their annual tournament in Taylor, MI. Since the closing of the Gibraltar Trade Center, they have actively been looking for a new venue. “We have been wanting to come back to Detroit for sometime now but circumstances have not allow for it until now.” says Ansel Stewart, president of the Metro Detroit Golden Gloves. “Bert’s Warehouse came forward to make it happen for our organization, and we couldn’t be happier.” The 3 day tournament will start Friday April 10th at 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday the fights will start at 1 p.m. Bert’s Warehouse will have a cash bar and food for purchase during the tournament. Stewart went on to say, “We should have a great turn out,there is a lot of interest in the tournament and people are really excited that it will be back in the city.” Metro Detroit Golden Gloves is also looking for sponsors for the event. “We are in great need of sponsors for the event, we rely solely on donations

Metro Detroit Golden Gloves is excited to be coming back to Detroit. It is what they have hoping for, for quite sometime. Bert’s Warehouse is making it happen for this great organization. Metro Detroit Golden Gloves is a 501(c)3. All of it’s board members are volunteers and do not except pay for their work. All donations go 100% to hosting the Detroit Golden Gloves tournaments and to the advancing boxers travel expenses for the National Golden Gloves tournament. Their goal as a charity is facilitate team work, instill confidence, and help keep the youth of Metro Detroit out of trouble and involved in a productive activity.
