Moose Trax was adopted from our shelter when he was just a puppy. In late December, and now nearly two years old, he was returned by his owners. Why? His left rear leg was badly broken and they could not afford veterinary care.
After evaluation, it was discovered that the leg, left untreated for too long, was beyond repair and required amputation. Moose Trax is doing remarkably well. This resilient boy is learning to navigate on 3 legs and is a spirited pup who doesn’t see any hurdles in his path. He’s looking for a special family who will give him the second chance he so deserves!
Adoption special: $75 adoption fee for dogs 6 months and older & more than 20 pounds; includes a $50 veterinary voucher while supplies last. Check out this and other January adoption specials.

Mufasa, who was featured in our last e-news, was adopted. But shortly after going home, he slipped his collar and ran away. At the time of this publication he has been missing almost two weeks. Many thanks to all the volunteers and community friends who have organized search parties, posted fliers, and posted on social media. Mufasa has been sighted a couple of times in the Michigan Avenue/Gulley area, where he first escaped. And we continue to push information out in the hopes of finally bringing him home.
Reward: We are offering a $500 reward for Mufasa’s safe return to the shelter.
