THE BIG M event, to be held June 9-12 at Detroit’s Cobo Center, is devoted to manufacturing. But from 5-7:30 p.m. on June 10, “M” will stand for “matchmaking,” as Automation Alley, Michigan’s largest technology business association, prepares to host its Summer Member Networking event at its MSV Innovation Factory on THE BIG M show floor, taking networking to a whole new level.
Automation Alley members get in free all four days of THE BIG M, which is expected to draw an international audience of 5,000 creative thinkers in manufacturing from across the globe. They will converge to see the latest advanced manufacturing technologies, engage in thought-provoking conversations and discuss real solutions to industry challenges – all in downtown Detroit.
“This is a great opportunity for our member organizations to explore THE BIG M for free on June 10, where they will see technologies that are revolutionizing the manufacturing process across all industries and mingle with an international manufacturing audience,” said Automation Alley Director of Defense and Manufacturing Dan Raubinger. “Doors open at 10 a.m. Then, Summer Member Networking will begin at 5 p.m. at our MSV Innovation Factory, where members will have the opportunity to form new business connections.”
After putting a call out to modeling, simulation and visualization (MSV) companies, Automation Alley, in partnership with SME, will showcase the latest technological innovations of three local manufacturing companies at THE BIG M. The Automation Alley display, called the MSV Innovation Factory, will feature interactive displays from Altair, Autodesk and Design Interactive, Inc., highlighting each company’s cutting-edge technology.
Also open to Automation Alley members and anyone attending THE BIG M on June 10 is the panel discussion titled “Modeling, Simulation and Visualization (MSV): Revolutionizing what industry can see, do and create.” The discussion, from 3-4:30 p.m., will include expert perspectives from industry, education and the U.S. Congressional Caucus for MSV. Attendees will find out why the U.S. Congress is calling MSV a “national critical technology” and how industry can benefit now from implementing MSV tools. Panelists will discuss the full spectrum of MSV, from educational infrastructure to industry opportunities for growth.
Automation Alley’s Summer Member Networking at THE BIG M is $10 and is open to members only. Pre-registration is required and attendance is limited. To register, visit automationalley.com.
